In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of series travel programs and ensuring that each group experience is seamless and of the highest quality. As a Groups Consultant, you will report directly to the Leisure Groups Team Leader, with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
– Oversee the entire process from booking confirmation to execution of Group Travel programs, invoicing, and on-the-ground support.
– Handle multiple series programs simultaneously, ensuring a consistent level of service, quality, and attention to detail.
– Address any unexpected issues during the travel experience immediately, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and guides.
– Work closely with other departments such as Product and Finance, to ensure smooth operations and communication.
– Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive team success.
– Maintain accurate records of bookings, feedback, and program performance for continuous improvement.
– Attend Team Meetings and provide Daily Reports to Team Leader/s and Director/s.
– Maintain a clear, concise, and effective communication style with clients, Management, and the team.
– Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote Terra Nova Tours.
– A diploma or degree in Tourism, Hotel Management or Events Management.
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in Group Travel, with a focus on Groups Series.
– Profound knowledge of South Africa as a tourism destination.
– Elementary understanding of Tourplan and WETU systems.
– Ideally, must have experience with and a good understanding of the German Market and Culture.
– German Speaking an advantage (read, write and converse).
– A customer-focused approach with the ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
– Ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet the demands and high pressure of the Travel Industry.
– A proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
– Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both clients and suppliers.
– Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and proven track record in use thereof.
– If not based in Cape Town, the candidate must be willing to travel to the Head Office at least twice a year, with a minimum stay of one week per visit (at the company’s expense).
